The exhibition of paintings by the young artist Jayantha Thissera proved to be matured
technique and experiences and a feast to bring our eyes to dwell upon it and inspiring us. The communication of states of ideas and our admiration of abstract forms has some analogy with satisfying human proportions young artist that their art is an interfaced and not mechanical activity.

Jayantha has deviated from the contemporary artist to have and independent existence to statisfy himself till he align with dogma. His usual he will not stagnate there.

Ambitious young men of his caliber (especially artist) roam from sphere to sphere.
The creative gene never allow him to relax till he masters the formal re presentation.
He knows how to follow the trail.

The exhibition is a laborious and fruitful study of over flowing resources. He has clearly shown what a severe formal discipline the naked body must undergo if it to survive as an art.
The freshness of desire has seldom been more delicately expressed. He has painted till those sensual forms have liberated him from his anxieties. This exhibition is worth seeing.

Jayantha Thissera is known to me for a considerable time and is gifted with many inborn talents. On his debut solo art exhibition I consider it is a privilege to have the opportunity to write few words about this versatile character. Born to a distinguished Sinhala Buddhist Family, he hails from Boralasgamuwa which is a suburb located to the south of the city Colombo.

He had his education at sunethra Devi Vidyalaya, Papiliyana where his main interest was Art and Drawing in addition to his other talent in swimming and in the electronic field. After completing his education at the school he selected the electronic field as his employment. However his hidden talent in Arts and Drawings surfaced three years ago when he decided to have a Solo Art Exhibition. During the last three years he has put his heart and soul to this endeavor where his talents as an Artist and a sculptor will be on view.

Proving the adage that behind the every successful man there is a woman, his wife Senali
has been the driving force behind his success and this message would be complete if this
is not mentioned.

Finally I would like to mention that it would be a fitting tribute here to record that standard and the Artistic quality of Jayatha's talents will be proven beyond and doubt for all those who are intrested in the fine Arts. Towards this end I recommended that every body interested in Art should not miss this rare opportunity of viewing this unique exhibition which is the work of on highly talented man.
