Jayantha Thissera (Koralage Sriimenvan Jayantha Thissera) was born to Mr. and Mrs. K.D.M. Perera, and is the eldest of the family. He was educated at Sunetra Devi Pirivena Papiliyana where his passion for art was discovered early on in his school years and which he indulged until his primary education. Unfortunately, because of unforeseen events, he had to give up his talents to secure his future in a country that did not give due recognition to her artistic sons

Having completed his education in the Electrical and Electronics field, Jayantha Thissera found himself employed at many firms, corporations and even the University of Moratuwa as an Electrician. He went on to finally work in one of Sri Lanka’s leading Property and Development Banks.

After fifteen years, he was still dissatisfied with his life. His marriage and entry into family life brought about a change as his wife and son encouraged him to stop suppressing his inner talent for painting. He then took up painting as a hobby. After painting for so many years, he was encouraged by other artists and colleagues to have an exhibition of his paintings. The satisfaction of expressing himself in his art has never been rivalled in any other aspect of his life.

His dream was to develop his artistic talents where it was lacking and to promote his paintings when and where ever possible. After years of hiding his talent, Jayantha Thissera is finally blossoming to reveal the true inner beauty of his artistic soul.
